Team Profile

A member of Concacaf since 1992, Saint Kitts and Nevis Football Association officials no doubt understand how difficult it can be to have sustained success in the confederation.

One minute, the men’s national team is struggling with relegation after finishing bottom of its 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League group in League B, with only one win from six matches in a group that also included Grenada, French Guiana and Belize.

The next, they are advancing into the second round of FIFA World Cup qualification after winning three and losing one first-round matches.

That has been life in the region for the Sugar Boyz, who have had moments to celebrate, like a runner-up finish at the 1997 Caribbean Cup and the World Cup Qualifying second-round appearance in 2021, but also difficult moments to push through.

The women’s national team also has learned those lessons, qualifying for the 2020 Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship, but failing to get a result or score a goal in the group stage.

With experienced leaders both on rosters and in the boardroom, Saint Kitts and Nevis is working hard to make sure that there will be celebratory moments to come in the future.
