Golden Lion, Bayamon attacks take flight as CCCS continues

MIAMI, Florida – The second day of action at the 2022 Concacaf Caribbean Shield (CCCS) in Puerto Rico continued on Sunday with several sides earning some very impressive wins.

In Group A, host club Bayamon FC rolled to a 6-0 win over South East FC of Dominica at the Estadio Juan Ramon Loubriel in Bayamon to finish their group stage campaign with four points.

After a scoreless first half-hour, the Bayamon attack found its stride and held a 2-0 lead at halftime through Kevin Hernandez (31’) and Carlos Rosario (44’).

The home side then carried that momentum into the second half and tacked on another four goals courtesy of Jordi Ranera (47’), a second from Hernandez (49’), Ryan Lopez (71’) and asecond score from Ranera (79’).

Golden Lion FC of Martinique won’t soon forget their first ever CCCS match, as it ended in an 8-0 triumph in their favor over Deportivo Nacional of Aruba in Group C at the Estadio Centroamericano de Mayaguez in Mayaguez.

Kevin Parsemain, scorer of five Concacaf Gold Cup goals in his Martinique National Team career, found the back of the net five times, scoring in the 28’, 30’, 58’, 61’ and 80’. Parsemain was joined on the scoresheet by Thierry Catherine (41’), Jordy Boriel (73’) and Alvyn Lamasine (86’).

AS Gosier of Guadeloupe made it two wins in two games to begin Group B, as they edged SWA Sharks FC of Turks and Caicos Islands, 1-0, at the Estadio Centroamericano de
Mayaguez in Mayaguez.

The lone goal arrived in the 40’ with Serin Livier scoring his second goal of the tournament by rising high and guiding a header into net to deliver his side the three points.

The other game in Group B in Mayaguez saw Jong Holland of Curacao collect their second win of the tournament by downing Bonaire’s Real Rincon, 5-0.
Jong Holland broke the deadlock in the 40’ when Davidson Rosa headed in a cross for a 1-0 lead.

Shurwendel Roosje then scored his second goal of the CCCS by poking home a shot in the 59’, followed by tap-ins for Bryan Anastatia in the 66’ and Shardison Clarissa in the 81’
before a Jean Baptiste Gaspard penalty conversion in the 90’ to round out the 5-0 scoreline.
