Phillips, Hamilton secure the win for Club Sando in Group A

Club Sando stays unbeaten in their 2026 Caribbean Cup run.

MIAMI – Group Stage of the 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continued its action on Tuesday with Group A, with Club Sando taking a 2-nil win against Defence Force at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.

Club Sando opened the score in the 24’ minute thanks to Luke Phillips, who sent the ball to the back of the net from the center of the box with a right foot shot.

An outstanding save by goalkeeper Christopher Biggette denied Club Sando’s second goal in the 38’, stopping the ball right in the goal line with his right hand to keep Defence Force in the game.

However, Club Sando didn’t stop pursuing a second goal to extend their lead, doing so in the 67’. Keron Cornwall carried the ball all the way to the area before assisting Shevohnez Hamilton, who scored with a left foot shot.

Club Sando jumps to the second position in Group A, with 6 points. They will aim for a new win on September 8th against Delfines, at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.

Defence Force will look to bounce back against Delfines on September 15th, at PUCMM Stadium in Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
