Cookie Policy
This is the cookie policy (the “Cookie Policy”) of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football ("CONCACAF") and its subsidiaries (collectively, "Concacaf", "we", "us") which describes our use of online trackers. Concacaf uses tracking technologies including, without limitation, software development kits (SDKs), browsing cookies, and web beacons, (collectively, “Cookies”) on our Services, as defined in our Terms and Conditions, to provide our products and services as well as to obtain certain information by automated means.
This Cookie Policy applies to our Services, that link to or display this policy. It explains how we use Cookies, their purposes, and how you can control them. This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which sets out how and why we collect, store, use, and share personal information generally, as well as your rights in relation to your personal information.
We ask for your permission (consent) to place Cookies on your device, except where they are required for us to provide you with a service that you have requested (e.g., to enable you to put items in your shopping basket and use the check-out process).
We may change this Cookie Policy from time to time and publish updated versions to the applicable Services, together with notices of changes where appropriate.

What are Cookies?
In this section we provide a general description of the types of Cookies that we use. There is a list available under Cookies Details in the Cookie Settings which provides more specific information about the Cookies that we use and why.
The Cookies used on our Services may include:
- Browser Cookies. A browser cookie is a small piece of data (text file) that a website – when visited by a user – asks your browser to store on your device to remember information about you, such as your language preference or login information. Browser cookies can be set by our domains (first-party cookies) or from a different domain (third-party cookies). Browser cookies are unique to your device and can either be session-based (which last while your browser is open) or persistent (which last until you delete them or they expire).
- Local Stored Objects. Local storage is a technique to store information within a user's browser using JavaScript. Local stored objects (“LSOs”) are stored on your device or browser to provide the Services.
- Web Beacons. Web beacons (also referred to as pixel tags or clear GIFs) are small pieces of code placed on a website or within the body of an email for the purpose of tracking activity on websites or identifying when emails are opened or accessed.
- Software Development Kits. Mobile Software Development Kits (“SDKs”) are bits of computer code used by mobile app developers to enable or enhance various features of a mobile app. For example, an app developer may include an SDK within a mobile app that enables advertisements to be shown, data to be collected for marketing purposes, or for analytics to be performed in connection with the mobile app.
Other similar tracking technologies include JavaScript, HTTP code mechanisms, and Application Programmable Interfaces (APIs), all of which entail snippets of code or software embedded in websites, applications, or emails which are also used to collect information about, for example, your interactions with and use of certain services on the Services.
As mentioned above, some of these tracking technologies are set and used directly by Concacaf, while others are placed by third parties, such as our analytics and advertising service providers and partners, to help us optimize the Services and our advertising initiatives.
What information do we obtain using Cookies?
Our use of Cookies may involve the processing of personal data. The information we may obtain through Cookies includes information about your device, browsing actions, usage patterns, and location, including without limitation, your device IP address, location information, unique device identifiers, device type and model, device characteristics and settings, browser settings and characteristics, operating system type and version, language and country preferences, software installed on the device, usage statistics, error reports, referring emails and web addresses, as well as other device details.
We also may obtain information about your interactions with our Services, such as pages visited, links clicked, features used, referring or exit URLs, dates and times of usage, session information, clickstream and page-scroll data, and other information about your interaction with our Services.
Cookies used on our Services
The Cookies used on our Services fall into the following categories:
- Required Cookies
- Functional Cookies
- Analytics Cookies
- Advertising and Social Media Cookies
- Unclassified Cookies
A description of each category is provided below:
Required Cookies
These Cookies are necessary for our Services to operate properly and to enable you to use their features. Without these Cookies, certain Services cannot be provided. For example, these Cookies provide us information (including, without limitation, your session ID) that help us authenticate users and confirm their consent or acceptance to the terms and conditions of our Services. We also use these Cookies for purposes such as protecting security, preventing fraud, and providing technical support.
This category of Cookies cannot be disabled.
Functional Cookies
Functional Cookies allow our Services to remember choices you make and provide enhanced and personalized features. They capture information (such as your region, preferences and choices, pages browsed or products viewed) so that we can provide you with a better experience, improve our Services, and develop new products and services. For example, when you sign into your account to use our Services, we use these Cookies to store your sign-in information. This allows our Services to remember your user preferences and give you a more tailored experience based on those preferences. It also allows you to use the Services without having to sign-in each time you return to an Online Service.
Functional Cookies generally are deleted when you end your browsing session or within a period of time thereafter. If you do not allow these Cookies, you may not be able to take full advantage of our Services.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics Cookies are used to help us analyze how our Services are used and improve performance, which makes our Services more user-friendly. These Cookies collect information about how users interact with our Services, such as which features of our Services are used, how long they are used, and whether any errors occurred while using them. These Cookies also help us count the number of unique users to a particular Online Service and measure the performance and effectiveness of content we make available through our Services. The information obtained through these Cookies may be disclosed to or collected directly by third-party analytics services.
Advertising and Social Media Cookies
We partner with third parties to use Advertising Cookies on our Services to deliver ads that we believe are relevant to you and your interests. Our third-party partners use Advertising Cookies to gather information about your activities on our Services and other websites and apps that participate in these services to provide you with targeted advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests. We also use such Cookies to track how many users have seen or clicked on an advertisement, which allows us to learn which advertising campaigns are most effective and limit the number of times a user is shown the same advertisement.
In some circumstances, we may work with third parties, such as, for example, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube to connect with you on social networks and provide certain services to our users including additional features such as viewing our videos. These third parties use Social Media Cookies to collect information on our Services, including via plug-ins and widgets so that they can present you with specific digital content on social media, which may be of interest to you.
For more information about the privacy practices of these third parties, please see the links below. Note that other social media sites may also have additional pages with relevant information:
Unclassified Cookies:
We regularly scan our Services for Cookies using our consent management platform (CMP), managed by TrustArc. Unclassified Cookies are those that the system cannot identify and categorize from that scan. It is our responsibility to manually classify these Cookies into the correct category, which can be onerous and time-consuming. While completing this categorization process, we classify them as “Unclassified”, which gives our users the option to opt out of them.
Your Choices
Consent Management Solution
You can manage your preferences for web-based Cookies via our consent management solution on our Services. This includes withdrawing consent for Cookies you have previously consented to. Please note: When you use these tools, you must renew your choices each time you clear your Cookies from your browser or device, use a new browser or device, or visit a different Service.
Browser Controls
You also may stop certain web-based Cookies from being downloaded on your device by selecting the appropriate settings on your web browser. Most web browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new Cookies, how to be notified when you receive new Cookies and how to disable existing Cookies. Interest-Based Advertising
Mobile devices
When using a mobile app, you may receive interest-based in-app ads. For mobile devices, you can manage how your device and browser share certain device data by adjusting the privacy and security settings on your device. Depending on your device, you may be able to reset your mobile device’s advertising identifier by accessing the privacy settings on your device. In addition, each operating system (e.g., iOS for Apple devices, Android for Android devices, and Windows for Microsoft devices) provides its own instructions on how to stop the delivery of interest-based in-app ads. You may review the support materials or the privacy settings of the respective operating system for additional information on opting out of interest-based in-app ads. For other devices or operating systems, please visit the privacy settings for the applicable device, review their privacy webpage or contact (or review the applicable privacy web page of) the applicable platform operator.
