Diriangén opens with victory over Plaza Amador 

Diriangén FC defeats Plaza Amador at the 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup

MANAGUA, Nicaragua - The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with Diriangén FC earning a 4-2 victory against CD Plaza Amador in Group A on Tuesday at Estadio Nacional de Nicaragua in Managua, Nicaragua.

Luis Coronel put the hosts in front in the 5’, striking inside the box to capitalize on a precise delivery from Melvin Hernández.

Harry Rojas doubled the lead for Diriangén in the 15’ with a first-time left-footed hit from the center of the box.

Bruno Barja added a third for the Nicaraguan club in the 27’, slotting the ball at the bottom-right corner.

Anyelo Velásquez extended Diriangén’s advantage in the 67’.

Héctor Ríos took advantage of a rebound inside the box to shorten the deficit for Plaza Amador in the 82’.

Alberto Quintero scored a second goal for the visitors in the 90’.

Group A action resumes on Tuesday, when Plaza Amador hosts CD Luis Ángel Firpo. Diriangén will host defending champions LD Alajuelense later that night.

• This is the second time Diriangén have won by four or more goals in the Concacaf Central American Cup, following their 4-2 victory against Herediano last year in the group stage.
