CSD Municipal and CS Cartaginés open their Group D campaigns in the 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup

GUATEMALA CITY – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with CSD Municipal hosting CS Cartaginés in Group D on Thursday at Estadio Manuel Felipe Carrera in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

The match marks the first official meeting between the two clubs.

Municipal returns for its third consecutive appearance after qualifying as the runner-up of Guatemala's Torneo Apertura 2025*. Los Rojos* will aim to advance beyond the Group Stage for the first time.

Cartaginés enters its third Central American Cup appearance in search of advancing past the Quarterfinals after exiting in that stage in both 2023 and 2025. Los Brumosos have a 6-4-6 all-time record across 16 matches in the competition.
