Saprissa hosts Alianza FC in Group C action
Deportivo Saprissa returns home after opening its campaign with a road victory, while Alianza FC makes its tournament debut.
MIAMI - The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with Deportivo Saprissa hosting Alianza FC in Group C on Wednesday at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Aymá in San Juan de Tíbás, Costa Rica.
Saprissa is coming off a 2-1 road victory over UMECIT FC in its tournament opener, with goals from Mariano Torres and Orlando Sinclair. The Costa Rican club has won all of its opening away matches in Central American Cup history, and became the first team in this year’s edition of the tournament to win a match despite receiving a red card.
Saprissa will be without Luis Paradela after he was sent off in the 67th minute of the win over UMECIT FC.
Saprissa has enjoyed success at home, going unbeaten in nine of its 10 home matches in tournament history – including seven wins and two draws – while keeping a clean sheet in seven of those encounters.
Alianza FC will be making its debut in the Central American Cup, becoming the seventh Panamanian team to compete in the tournament.
