L.A. Firpo scores four in victory over Diriangén FC

Four different goalscorers lead L.A. Firpo to a 4-0 victory over Diriangén FC in Group A.

SANTA TECLA, El Salvador – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continued on Thursday with L.A. Firpo earning a 4-0 win over Diriangén FC in Group A at Estadio Nacional Las Delicias in Santa Tecla, El Salvador.

Rafael Águila opened the scoring in the 16’ as he struck a well-placed shot from outside the box.

L.A. Firpo doubled the advantage in the 42’ when Mauricio Cerritos fired a strong first-time hit from distance.

The hosts extended their lead in the 52’ as Diego Ortez created space and finished from an acute angle.

The Salvadoran club put a stamp on the victory in the 85’ with José Valencia’s right-footed shot from the edge of the box.

L.A. Firpo will continue its Central American Cup campaign on Thursday, August 20 against LD Alajuelense. Diriangén FC will face Club Xelajú in its next encounter on Tuesday, August 18.
