CD Marathón claims road victory over Antigua GFC
CD Marathón earns a 3-0 victory over Antigua GFC to collect three points in Group B.
ANTIGUA, Guatemala – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continued on Thursday with CD Marathón earning a 3-0 win over Antigua GFC in Group B at Estadio Pensativo in Antigua, Guatemala.
CD Marathón opened the scoring in the 45+2 when Nicolás Messiniti finished off a strong passing sequence with a tap-in.
Yairo Moreno doubled the lead in the 56’ as he collected a second ball at the far post following a corner and calmly tucked his shot into the back of the net.
Damin Ramírez put the finishing touches on the three points with a sliding finish in the 75’.
CD Marathón will continue its Central American Cup campaign on Wednesday, August 19 against Alianza FC. Antigua GFC will face CS Herediano in its next encounter on Wednesday, August 26.
