CS Cartaginés hosts Saprissa with a Semifinals berth on the line

MIAMI – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with CS Cartaginés hosting Deportivo Saprissa on Wednesday for the Second Leg of their Quarterfinals series at Estadio José Rafael Fello Meza in Cartago, Costa Rica.

CS Cartaginés arrives with a slight advantage due to away goals after a 2-2 draw on the road at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa in the First Leg.

José González and Geancarlo Castro were the scorers for CS Cartaginés, while Orlando Sinclair and David Guzmán got onto the scoresheet for Saprissa.

CS Cartaginés is participating in its third Quarterfinals appearance, looking to advance to the Central American Cup Semifinals for the first time.

Los Brumosos will seek to maintain a perfect record at home after winning their first two home fixtures of the 2026 campaign, while also aiming for their first win in the Quarterfinals after recording 0W-1D-4L in their previous matches in this round.

Saprissa is playing in their third CAC Quarterfinals, having the objective of securing a Semifinals spot for the first time.

Los Morados will aim to pick up their first victory in the stage after registering three draws and two losses to date.

In its away match against UMECIT FC, Saprissa recorded 12 such pressures, its second-highest total in a match in the competition.
• CS Cartaginés is the only team to have scored more than one goal from the 89th minute onward in the current Concacaf Central American Cup, with two. Both were scored by Geancarlo Castro against Verdes FC, at 89:31 and in the 93rd minute.
