Panama advances to Quarterfinals with win over Honduras

Panama tops Honduras

Panama secured a place in the Quarterfinals by finishing as the best third-place team following a four-goal victory in Group C.

PUEBLA, Mexico – The 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship continued with Panama earning a 4-0 victory over Honduras in Group C on Saturday at Estadio Universitario BUAP in Puebla, Mexico.

Panama opened the scoring in the 33’ as Josue Wood elevated above the defense to head home a corner kick.

Just nine minutes later, Moisés Richards doubled the lead when his attempted chip struck the post and rebounded back to him for the second-chance finish.

Panama extended its advantage in first-half stoppage time (45’+4’) when Gerson Gordon received a cross from Carlos Rodríguez and fired home a finish on the bounce.

Panama added its fourth goal in the 69’ as Rodríguez pounced on a rebound after the goalkeeper made the initial save.

With the result, Panama advanced to the Quarterfinals as the best third-place team from the Group Stage.
