USA tops Group A, seals Quarterfinals berth with win over Cuba 

USA picks up third win in Group A to advance to the Quarterfinals of the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship

PUEBLA, Mexico – The 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship continued with the United States earning a 5-0 win over Cuba on Friday in Group A at Estadio Universitario BUAP in Puebla, Mexico.

Ruben Ramos gave USA the lead in the 2’, heading home at the far post to capitalize on a cross from Jayden Contreras.

Alexander Shaw doubled USA’s advantage in the 26’ with a right-footed strike from the right side of the box.

Brandon Days added a third for the Star and Stripes in the 75’, heading home a corner kick delivery from Contreras.

USA found a fourth in the 78’, with Joshua Torquato scoring with a strike from outside the box.

Dylan Vanney rounded out the victory for the United States in the 82’, combining on a give-and-go before finding the back of the net with a right-footed finish.

With the win, USA claims first place in Group A with nine points and a perfect 3-0-0 record to advance to the Quarterfinals.

Cuba finished third in the group with three points from a 1-0-2 record and awaits the results of the remaining matches to learn whether it advances to the Quarterfinals as one of the two best third-place teams.
