Verdes FC set to face CSD Municipal in Group D action

Verdes FC in search of first points, Municipal looks for first win after a draw on Matchday 1.

BELMOPÁN, Belize – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with Verdes FC hosting CSD Municipal in Group D on Thursday at FFB Stadium in Belmopán, Belize.

The match will mark the first official meeting between the two clubs.

Verdes FC enters the match looking to bounce back after a 5-0 defeat to FC Motagua in its tournament opener. The reigning Belize Premier League champions are also seeking their first victory in Central American Cup history after losing their first nine matches in the competition.

Municipal will play its second Group Stage fixture after playing out a 1-1 stalemate in Costa Rica against CS Cartaginés on Matchday 1. Defender José Mena got onto the scoresheet in the match to secure the point for the Guatemalan club.

Los Rojos will aim to extend the team’s current unbeaten run. Municipal has avoided defeat in its last five Central American Cup matches, recording a win and four draws.
