Real Estelí FC opens 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup campaign with a win.

ANTIGUA, Guatemala - The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with Real Estelí FC securing a 2-0 victory over Antigua GFC in Group B On Tuesday at Estadio Pensativo in Antigua, Guatemala.

Juan Barrera opened the scoring in the 40’ to place Real Estelí in the lead, fending off his defender to control a long ball before striking with a right-footed finish from inside the box.

The visitors doubled the advantage in the 87’ through Edgar Castillo, who found the back of the net from inside the penalty area following a corner kick delivery.

Real Estelí FC will continue its campaign on Matchday 4 by hosting CS Herediano on August 18. Antigua, meanwhile, will take on CD Marathón next Thursday in its next Group Stage fixture.

  • Real Estelí's Juan Barrera opened the scoring, netting his fifth goal in the Concacaf Central American Cup. He is the only player to have scored in all four editions of the competition: two in 2023, one in 2024, one in 2025 and one in 2026.
