Plaza Amador aims to build on winning start against Club Xelajú

Plaza Amador looks for a second straight victory, while Club Xelajú seeks its first points of the tournament.

PANAMA CITY, Panama – Group A will kick off Matchday 3 of the 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup on Wednesday when Plaza Amador welcomes Club Xelajú at Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City, Panama.

Plaza Amador will enter the match with aims of winning back-to-back matches, having earned three points in a 2-1 victory over L.A. Firpo thanks to goals from Jimar Sánchez and Julio Rodriguez. The side will also look to maintain its positive home record, having won all of its Central American Cup Group Stage home matches to date.

Daivis Murillo and Eric Davis have been among Plaza Amador’s key contributors in attack.

Club Xelajú, meanwhile, will seek its first win of the 2026 Central American Cup after losing its opening match against defending champions LD Alajuelense. The Guatemalan side will also be looking for its first goal of the tournament.
