L.A. Firpo seeks its first win of the tournament, while Diriangén FC looks to bounce back from its first defeat.

SANTA TECLA, El Salvador – L.A. Firpo will welcome Diriangén FC on Thursday as Group A action continues in the 2026 Central American Cup at Estadio Nacional Las Delicias in Santa Tecla, El Salvador.

L.A. Firpo began its 2026 Central American Cup campaign with a defeat to Plaza Amador, and will now look to secure its first points in competition history; the Salvadoran club’s lone point came in a 1-1 draw against Comunicaciones in 2024, before losing its next four matches.

Mauricio Cerritos found the back of the net for L.A. Firpo in its inaugural match of the 2026 edition of the tournament.

After opening its 2026 Central American Cup campaign with a victory, Diriangén FC fell to reigning champions LD Alajuelense in its second game in Group A. The result sees the club sitting in second place in its group entering Matchday 3.

Diriangén has netted five goals in the Group Stage, the latest coming from Christian Reyes, who scored the only goal for Los Caciques in the match against LD Alajuelense.
