Club Xelajú earns first win with shutout of Diriangén FC
Club Xelajú earns its first three points of the campaign with a 2-0 victory over Diriangén FC in Group A.
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continued on Tuesday with Club Xelajú earning a 2-0 win over Diriangén FC in Group A at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Club Xelajú opened the scoring in the 16’ when Diego Casas converted from the penalty spot.
The hosts doubled their advantage in the 76’ as Javier González delivered a low cross and captain Jorge Aparicio fired his shot into the back of the net to secure the club’s first three points.
Diriangén FC’s Central American Cup campaign came to a close with the loss, while Club Xelajú will play its final Group Stage match on Wednesday, August 26 against L.A. Firpo.
