CD Marathón clinches Quarterfinal berth with win over Real Estelí FC

CD Marathón secures its place in the Quarterfinals with a 3-0 victory over Real Estelí FC in Group B.

SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with CD Marathón earning a 3-0 win over Real Estelí FC in Group B at Estadio Francisco Morazan in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

CD Marathón opened the scoring in the 43’ when Carlos Pérez headed a ball across the box and Brian Farioli struck a volley to put the hosts ahead.

The Honduran club doubled its lead in the 53’ as Javier Arriaga connected with a header off a corner kick delivery.

Yairo Moreno put the finishing touches on the win in the 90+1 with a low, left-footed shot from outside the box just four minutes after subbing into the match.

With the result, CD Marathón advances to the Quarterfinals while Real Estelí FC’s tournament comes to an end.
