2026 Concacaf Central American Cup Team Profiles: Group B
Previewing the five teams in Group B ahead of the 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup
MIAMI – As the 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup approaches, it's time to take a closer look at the 20 clubs that secured their place in the region's annual club competition.
Group B will feature CS Herediano, Antigua GFC, CD Marathón, Real Estelí FC, and Alianza FC.
CS Herediano
CS Herediano returns for its fourth consecutive appearance in the Central American Cup after qualifying as the second-best team in the aggregate table during Costa Rica's Liga Promerica 2025-26 season.
The Costa Rican side shares the tournament record for most matches played (20) with Deportivo Saprissa and the record for most draws (10) with LD Alajuelense. Los Florenses own an 8-10-2 record in tournament play and have reached the Semifinals in both 2023 and 2024. Marcel Hernández leads the club's all-time scoring chart in the competition with four goals.
Antigua GFC
Antigua GFC will make its third consecutive appearance in the Central American Cup after qualifying as Guatemala's 2025 Primera División Apertura Champion.
The Guatemalan club reached the Semifinals in 2024, becoming one of only two Guatemalan clubs to reach the Semifinals of the Central American Cup, alongside CSD Xelajú MC. Antigua enters this year's edition with a 4-5-3 record across 12 matches. Santiago Gómez is the club's all-time leading scorer in the competition with four goals.
CD Marathón
CD Marathón returns for its second Central American Cup appearance after making its tournament debut in 2024.
The Honduran club finished its inaugural campaign with a 2-0-2 record and will be looking to advance beyond the Group Stage for the first time. Marathón joins Olancho FC as the only clubs in tournament history whose goals have all been scored by Honduran players.
Real Estelí FC
Real Estelí FC returns for a fourth consecutive appearance after reaching the Final in both 2023 and 2024.
The Nicaraguan side leads all clubs from its country with 24 matches played, 10 victories, and 30 goals scored in Central American Cup history. Real Estelí owns a 10-8-6 all-time record in the competition, while Byron Bonilla is the club's leading scorer with six goals.
Alianza FC
Alianza FC will make its third appearance in the Central American Cup after competing in the 2024 and 2025 editions.
The Salvadoran club has posted a 2-1-5 record in eight tournament matches and will aim to advance beyond the Group Stage for the first time. Alianza ranks second among Salvadoran clubs in all-time Central American Cup matches played, trailing only CD Águila (16). Emerson Mauricio is the club's leading scorer in the competition with three goals.
