Mexico defeated Guatemala to top Group B in the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship.

PUEBLA, Mexico – The 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship continued with Mexico earning a 4-nil win against Guatemala in Group B on Thursday at Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla, Mexico.

Diego Ramírez opened the scoring for the hosts in the 45’ when he knocked in a header off a cross from Samir Inda.

El Tricolor doubled its lead in the 54’ as Hugo Camberos corralled a deflection and ripped one past the goalkeeper. Camberos has now scored in all three Group Stage matches for Mexico in this year’s edition of the tournament.

Mexico’s attack didn’t let up as Luis Gamboa extended the lead even further in the 65’ when he made a strong run behind the defense to finish a chipped pass from Juan Sigala.

The hosts put the finishing touches on the victory in the 89’ with a thunderous curling free kick from Nelson Cedillo.

With the result, Mexico completed a perfect Group Stage with three wins and booked a spot in the Quarterfinals. The defending champions scored nine goals while keeping three clean sheets.

Guatemala finished third in Group B and must wait for other results to determine whether it advances to the Knockout Stage.
