Club León qualified for the 2027 Champions Cup

Club Leon secured a spot in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup

HOUSTON – The 2026 Leagues Cup continued on Sunday with Club Leon earning a 1-nil win over Club America in the Third-Place match at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas, USA.

Despite a few chances on both sides, the hard-fought encounter remained scoreless for a majority of regulation until La Fiera found the breakthrough moment in the last minutes of the match.

Diber Cambindo rose to the occasion in the 80’ to head home Daniel Arcila’s free kick delivery and secure the victory. It marked Cambindo’s third goal in this year’s edition of the competition.

With the result Club León clinched a spot in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup and finished the tournament with just one loss in six matches.
