CF Monterrey takes on Chicago Fire FC, Club León faces Real Salt Lake
MIAMI – Leagues Cup 2026 will continue on Tuesday as the Quarterfinals kick off. CF Monterrey and Chicago Fire FC open the action for the day, followed by Club León facing Real Salt Lake.
CF Monterrey vs. Chicago Fire FC
CF Monterrey and Chicago Fire FC will get the Quarterfinals underway at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois, USA.
Monterrey arrives at the Quarterfinals after putting together a perfect record in Phase One with three victories. Rayados defeated Orlando City SC, Inter Miami CF, and Nashville SC with 2-1 scorelines in each match. Forward Hugo Cuypers has been the team’s main threat in attack so far, tallying three goals in three appearances.
Chicago Fire also enters the knockout stage after winning its three Phase One fixtures. The Fire opened with a 2-0 shutout of Club Necaxa, followed by 3-1 and 2-1 victories over Club Santos Laguna and Cruz Azul respectively.
Club León vs. Real Salt Lake
The second matchup of the day will see Club León face Real Salt Lake at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado, USA.
Club León will look to advance to the Semifinals after topping the Liga MX standings with nine points and a perfect 3-0-0 record. Los Panzas Verdes defeated Nashville SC 1-0, Orlando City SC 2-1, and Inter Miami CF 3-2. Midfielder Daniel Arcilla has been one of the key players for the Liga MX club with three goals in four appearances.
Real Salt Lake, meanwhile, placed fourth in the MLS Phase One table with seven points after recording a draw and two wins. RSL drew 1-1 against Tigres UANL, with the Liga MX side claiming the extra point in penalties, followed by 4-0 and 3-0 shutouts of Atlante FC and FC Juárez.
