One Month Away: Concacaf Teams Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026
Ahead of the FIFA World Cup, we take a look at Concacaf’s national teams.
MIAMI – With the FIFA World Cup 2026 just one month away, we review the six Concacaf national teams that will represent the region in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The 23rd edition of the global competition will take place across 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States from June 11 to July 19.
The tournament will be the first FIFA World Cup to be hosted by three nations, and the first to feature 48 teams – expanding from the previous 32-team format.
Concacaf co-host nations
Canada
Canada qualified automatically as a first-time host nation for a FIFA World Cup. The Reds will make back-to-back appearances for the first time, and an overall third appearance.
Canada will feature in Group B alongside Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, and Switzerland:
- Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina – Friday, June 12 at 3 p.m. ET, Toronto Stadium
- Canada vs. Qatar – Thursday, June 18 at 6 p.m. ET, BC Place Vancouver
- Switzerland vs. Canada – Wednesday, June 24 at 3 p.m. ET, BC Place Vancouver
Mexico
Mexico will participate in its 18th FIFA World Cup as a host nation for the third time, previously housing the 1970 and the 1986 editions. Mexico will make history as it becomes the nation to have hosted the event more times than any other country.
El Tricolor was drawn into Group A alongside South Africa, South Korea, and Czechia:
- Mexico vs. South Africa – Thursday, June 11 at 3 p.m. ET, Mexico City Stadium
- Mexico vs. South Korea – Thursday, June 18 at 9 p.m. ET, Guadalajara Stadium
- Czechia vs. Mexico – Wednesday, June 24 at 9 p.m. ET, Mexico City Stadium
United States
The United States also secured an automatic berth in the tournament as co-hosts. The Stars and Stripes are set for a 12th World Cup appearance and second on home soil after hosting in 1994.
USA will compete in Group D against Paraguay, Australia, and Turkey:
- USA vs. Paraguay – Friday, June 12 at 9 p.m. ET, Los Angeles Stadium
- USA vs. Australia – Friday June 19 at 3 p.m. ET, Seattle Stadium
- Turkey vs. USA – Thursday, June 25 at 10 p.m. ET, Los Angeles Stadium
Concacaf qualified nations
Curaçao
Curaçao will be making its debut in a FIFA World Cup after securing a historic qualification. The Blue Wave sealed its ticket by winning Group B in the Final Round of the Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers with an unbeaten 3-3-0 record.
Curaçao will make its debut in the tournament in Group E alongside Germany, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador.
- Germany vs. Curaçao – Sunday, June 14 at 1 p.m. ET, Houston Stadium
- Ecuador vs. Curaçao – Saturday, June 20 at 8 p.m. ET, Kansas City Stadium
- Curaçao vs. Ivory Coast – Thursday, June 25 at 4 p.m. ET, Philadelphia Stadium
Haiti
Haiti returns to a FIFA World Cup 51 years after appearing at the 1974 edition. Les Grenadiers clinched its return to the tournament by placing first in Group C in the Final Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers, concluding with a 3-2-1 record.
Haiti was drawn into Group C with Brazil, Morocco and Scotland:
- Haiti vs. Scotland – Saturday, June 13 at 9 p.m. ET, Boston Stadium
- Brazil vs. Haiti – Friday, June 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET, Philadelphia Stadium
- Morocco vs. Haiti – Wednesday, June 24 at 6 p.m. ET, Atlanta Stadium
Panama
Panama is headed to a second World Cup after securing a first-place finish in Group A in the Final Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers, qualifying with an undefeated 3-3-0 record.
Los Canaleros will feature in Group L with Croatia, Ghana, and England:
- Ghana vs. Panama – Wednesday, June 17 at 7 p.m. ET, Toronto Stadium
- Panama vs. Croatia – Tuesday, June 23 at 7 p.m. ET, Toronto Stadium
- Panama vs. England – Saturday, June 27 at 5 p.m. ET, New York/New Jersey Stadium.
