Mexico Defeats Ecuador 2-0 to Advance to the Round of 16

MEXICO CITY – The FIFA World Cup 2026 continued with Mexico earning a 2-nil win over Ecuador in the Round of 32 on Tuesday at Mexico City Stadium in Mexico City, Mexico.

Just nine minutes later, Quiñones assisted Raúl Jiménez with a nice give-and-go as the latter extended the lead in the 31’.

The result sees Mexico secure a spot in the Round of 16 where it awaits England or Congo DR on July 5, 8:00 PM ET (6:00 PM local), at Mexico City Stadium.
