Haiti Ends World Cup Run

Haiti's FIFA World Cup campaign ended with a loss to Morocco.

ATLANTA – The FIFA World Cup 2026 continued as Haiti fell 4-2 to Morocco in Group C on Wednesday at Atlanta Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Haiti took an early lead in the 10’ through an own goal from Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, after deflecting a backheel finish from Lenny Joseph into the back of the net.

Haiti goalkeeper Johny Placide delivered several notable interventions throughout the first half, including a double save in the 30’ to deny Achraf Hakimi on a one-on-one opportunity, and Ayoub El Kaabi’s shot immediately after.

Morocco leveled the scoring in the 39’ with a strike from close range by Hakimi.

Wilson Isidor restored the lead for Les Grenadiers in the 43’, with a fantastic long-range thunderbolt to the top-left corner.

Ismael Saibari equalized for Morocco once again in the 45’+1’, finding the back of the net with a first time hit from inside the box to capitalize on a delivery from Hakimi.

Morocco ultimately secured the result with two goals in the final stretch of the second half. Soufiane Rahimi, in the 78’, and Gessime Yassine, in the 89’, were on target for the African nation to claim the win.

Haiti concluded its World Cup campaign with a valiant effort to finish fourth place (0-0-3) in a heavily contested group.
