Head Coach Profile

Sébastien Migné will lead the Haitian national team in his first FIFA World Cup as a head coach. The 53-year-old Frenchman took the helm in June 2024 and secured Haiti's first FIFA World Cup appearance in over five decades.

Along the way, Haiti won all six of its matches in the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League, topping Group C of League B to earn promotion to League A and qualification for the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.

Key Players

Johny Placide - Haiti’s captain is also the most experienced player on the 26-man squad. Since making his senior debut in 2011, Placide has represented Haiti at three Concacaf Gold Cups, including the nation's historic semifinal run in 2019.

Ricardo Adé - With more than 50 international appearances, the 36-year-old center back provides leadership and experience at the heart of Haiti’s defense.

Duckens Nazon - Haiti’s all-time leading scorer has amassed 44 goals in 76 appearances and will look to continue climbing the record books as he chases the 50-goal mark.

Game Changer

Frantzdy Pierrot - A proven goalscorer, Pierrot has played a pivotal role in Haiti’s successful Nations League and World Cup qualifying campaigns. Born in Haiti and raised in the United States, he is set for a homecoming of sorts when Haiti opens its World Cup campaign against Scotland in Boston.

Rising Star

Carl Sainté, 23, enters the World Cup as one of Haiti’s most influential young midfielders. The midfielder has become a dependable presence in the national team setup, earning 26 caps while helping Haiti achieve its historic qualification.

Statistical Snapshot

Haiti is making its second appearance at a FIFA World Cup, and its first since the 1974 edition. In its only appearance so far, Haiti conceded 14 goals in three group games.

The 52-year gap between Haiti’s first appearance (1974) and second appearance (2026) at the FIFA World Cup is the joint-fourth longest in the tournament’s history, behind Wales (64 years between 1958 and 2022), Egypt (56 years between 1934 and 1990), and Norway (56 years between 1938 and 1994).

No player scored more goals in the Concacaf Qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup than Haiti’s Duckens Nazon (6), including a hat-trick after coming on as a substitute against Costa Rica in September.

Sébastien Migné will be the second person to coach Haiti at a FIFA World Cup after Antoine Tassy, and the first non-Haitian to do so (French). His only previous experience at a major international competition came at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with Kenya (W1, L2) and with Haiti at the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup (D1, L2).

Historic Storyline Entering the Tournament

Haiti’s return to the FIFA World Cup is one of the most compelling stories of the 2026 tournament. The Caribbean nation last appeared on football’s biggest stage at West Germany 1974, where it made its debut. More than five decades later, a new generation of Haitian players has ended a 52-year wait.

The Caribbean nation’s journey back to the World Cup has been built on the emergence of a talented core of players, combined with the leadership of veterans such as Johny Placide, Ricardo Adé, Duckens Nazon, and Frantzdy Pierrot.
