Canada meets Morocco, looking to extend their historic FIFA World Cup run.
HOUSTON – The FIFA World Cup 2026 continues as Canada faces Morocco in the Round of 16 on Saturday, 1:00 PM ET (12:00 PM local), at Houston Stadium in Houston, Texas, USA.
The matchup marks the second meeting between the two nations on soccer's biggest stage. They previously faced off in their final Group Stage match at Qatar 2022, when Morocco earned a 2-1 victory on its way to a fourth-place finish.
Canada looks to continue its historic World Cup run after earning its first-ever knockout stage victory with a 1-0 win over South Africa in the Round of 32. Stephen Eustaquio scored the decisive goal in the second minute of second-half additional time.
The Canadians will once again rely on Eustaquio's leadership, along with attacking stars Jonathan David and Alphonso Davies, as they seek a place in the Quarterfinals.
Morocco advanced with a dramatic penalty shootout victory over the Netherlands after the teams played to a 1-1 draw. Issa Diop scored the equalizer in the 90'+1' to force extra time. Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou made a crucial save in the shootout before Ismael Saibari converted the winning penalty.
