Canada concluded its World Cup with a loss to Morocco in the Round of 16.
HOUSTON – The FIFA World Cup 2026 continued as Canada concluded its best tournament finish with a 3-nil loss to Morocco in the Round of 16 at Houston Stadium in Houston, Texas, USA.
The Canadians tried to open the scoring early with Jonathan David having an opportunity in the 4’, as he was denied by Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
Morocco broke the deadlock in the 50’ through Azzedine Ounahi. Ounahi struck again in the 82’ to collect his brace.
Soufiane Rahimi scored the third and final goal of the match for Morocco in the 90’+8’.
With the result, The Canucks ended their historic third participation with a 2-0-2 record.
