LD Alajuelense hosts Plaza Amador with Quarterfinals berth at stake

Both teams enter with six points and with the chance of sealing a Quarterfinals berth.

ALAJUELA, Costa Rica – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continues on Wednesday with LD Alajuelense welcoming Plaza Amador in Group A action at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

LD Alajuelense will look to bounce back after a 1-0 defeat on the road against L.A. Firpo last week. The reigning Central American Cup champions currently sit third in Group A with six points as a result of a 2W-0D-1L record.

With a win, Alajuelense would secure its place in the Quarterfinals.

Plaza Amador, meanwhile, possesses an identical 2W-0D-1L record, but is second in Group A due to the number of goals scored. In its most recent match, the Panamanian side earned a 5-2 victory over CSD Xelajú MC, with goals from Everardo Rose, Ricardo Phillips, Yoameth Murillo, and Davis Murillo, as well as an own goal.

Plaza Amador would book its place in the knockout stage with a victory or a draw.
