Club Olimpia tops Group C with win over Deportivo Saprissa

Club Olimpia defeats Deportivo Saprissa 2-1 to finish atop Group C as both clubs advance to the Quarterfinals.

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with Club Olimpia earning a 2-1 win over Deportivo Saprissa in Group C at Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Edwin Rodríguez opened the scoring in the 12’ with a header off a long throw-in.

Club Olimpia doubled the lead in the 69’ when Jorge Benguché finished a chance from close range following a deflection.

Deportivo Saprissa scored its lone goal in the 75’ as captain Mariano Torres struck a powerful left-footed shot from inside the box.

Both clubs had already qualified for the Quarterfinals entering the match, but the victory secured first place in Group C for Club Olimpia.
