Violette AC secures victory over Defence Force FC in Caribbean Cup debut

Group A action kicked off with Violette earning a historic win in its Caribbean Cup debut.

SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS, Dominican Republic – The 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continued with Violette AC earning a 3-0 win over Defence Force FC in the Group A opener on Tuesday at Estadio Cibao in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

Miche-Naider Chéry opened the scoring in the 13’ to hand Violette the lead, capitalizing on a delivery from Elyvens Déjean and tucking the ball in from close range.

The Haitian side doubled its advantage in the 73’ through a left-footed finish from the top of the box by Jean-Louis Clifford. Déjean recorded his second assist of the match in the play.

Déjean added a goal of his own from the center of the box in the 86’ to round out the result.

Violette AC will play its second Group A match when it visits Delfines del Este FC on August 19. Defence Force will continue its campaign by hostin SV Broki on August 20.
