Cibao FC, Cavalier FC meet again in the Caribbean Cup

Cibao FC and Cavalier FC set to write a new chapter in their rivalry in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup.

SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS, Dominican Republic – The 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continues with Cibao FC taking on Cavalier FC in Group B on Wednesday at Estadio Cibao in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

The clubs will meet for a fourth time in Caribbean Cup history after clashing in the Final of the 2024 edition and in the Group Stage in 2025. The two-legged Final in 2024 resulted in a 1-0 victory for Cavalier, followed by a 2-1 win for Cibao, with the aggregate even at 2-2 and Cavalier clinching the title on away goals. The 2025 matchup saw Cibao claim a 2-0 victory over Cavalier.

Cibao FC will be kicking off its fourth Caribbean Cup campaign with the hopes of building on its 2024 campaign, when it finished as runners-up.

Among Dominican clubs, Cibao has recorded the most wins in the history of the tournament (11) and the most goals scored (29).

Cavalier FC will also mark its fourth Caribbean Cup campaign in 2026. The Jamaican side will aim to lift the cup for a second time after claiming the title in 2024.

Cavalier is the only club in tournament history to reach the final twice, finishing as runners-up to SV Robinhood in 2023 before defeating Cibao FC in the 2024 Final. It is also the Jamaican club with the most wins in Caribbean Cup history (10) and the most goals scored (40).
