Violette, Defence Force Begin Group A Race
Violette AC steps onto the Caribbean Cup stage against a seasoned Defence Force side.
The 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup begins this week with Violette AC taking on Defence Force FC in the Group A opener on Tuesday at Estadio Cibao in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
Defence Force will make its third appearance in the competition. The Trinidad and Tobago club finished third in last year’s tournament, led by Kevin Molino’s four goals and two assists. He contributed to six of the club’s 11 goals during the campaign.
Violette AC will make its Caribbean Cup debut, becoming the fourth Haitian club to compete in the tournament, joining Ouanaminthe FC, Real Hope FA and FC Juventus des Cayes.
Trinidad and Tobago clubs are unbeaten in away matches against Haitian opposition in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup, with one win and two draws. Defence Force accounts for that lone victory after defeating Juventus des Cayes 1-0 last year.
Despite making its first Caribbean Cup appearance, Violette AC has extensive experience in international competitions, including the CFU Club Shield and the Concacaf Champions Cup.
