Debut Stage Set for Portmore, Salcedo

Portmore United and Salcedo FC make their Caribbean Cup debuts as the 2026 edition begins.

MIAMI – The 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup kicks off on Tuesday with Portmore United and Salcedo FC meeting in their first-ever Caribbean Cup match at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

The match will mark the Caribbean Cup debut for both clubs after qualifying as champions of their respective national leagues in Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.

Salcedo FC is marking another milestone in its young history by becoming the fifth club from the Dominican Republic to compete in the Caribbean Cup and the third-youngest club from the country to do so.

Salcedo FC's Jamesley Daniel enters the tournament after finishing as the top scorer in the 2025/26 Dominican League with 24 goals in 33 matches.

Portmore United becomes the sixth Jamaican club to compete in the Caribbean Cup. The club also brings Concacaf Champions Cup experience after participating in the 2005/06 and 2020 editions of the region’s premier men’s club competition.

Tarick Ximines is among the key players for Portmore United, bringing Jamaica senior men’s national team experience, notably making his debut in a FIFA World Cup qualifier in 2022.
