BAYAMON, Puerto Rico -- El Huracán Azul returns home for their final match of the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League to meet the Dolphins of Anguilla on Tuesday, with both teams looking to build upon the experience gained from their last clash.
When these two sides met in October in Anguilla, Puerto Rico got out to a 3-0 lead, but the hosts clawed back to 3-2 and finished the game with all the momentum. For Puerto Rico, the rematch is a chance for their first home win since 2016. For Anguilla, it’s an opportunity for payback.
In that match, Jose Luis Ferrer, Giovanni Padron, and Gerald Diaz scored the goals for Puerto Rico, while Kyle Lake-Bryan and Calvin Morgan contributed goals to the Anguillan comeback effort.
Though neither side was able to best powerhouse Guatemala, the lessons learned from those matches will pay dividends here. Both sides have learned and improved a lot over the course of this Nations League cycle, and this will be the game to prove it.
A victory for Puerto Rico would mean they finish the campaign with six points, a solid second-place total. For Anguilla, a win would be their first in competitive play since 2010, and their first on the road since 2000.
