Los Leones del Caribe earned their first three points in Group A

PUEBLA, Mexico – The 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship continued with Cuba earning a 3-0 win against El Salvador in Group A on Saturday at Estadio Universitario BUAP in Puebla, Mexico.

The first goal of the day came from a left-footed strike from Didier Reinoso in the 18’, giving Cuba the lead.

Alien Águila doubled the lead in the 36’, sending the ball past goalkeeper Oliver Alegria.

El Salvador tried to pull one back, but the Cuban defensive line denied their chances. The Central Americans finished the game with ten men, as Itzel Colocho saw a second yellow card in the 73’.

Cuba's third and last goal of the day came in the last minutes of regular time, in the 89’, from a right-footed shot by Rainiel Morales.

With this result, Cuba secured its first three points in Group A and will face Haiti on Tuesday. El Salvador will try to bounce back and get its first win against the United States later that evening.
