Group A begins with Cuba against El Salvador.

PUEBLA, Mexico – The 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship continues with Cuba and El Salvador facing off in Group A on Saturday at Estadio Universitario BUAP in Puebla, Mexico.

This will be the fifth meeting between the two nations in Concacaf U-20 Championship history. El Salvador holds a 3-0-1 advantage in the all-time series, with the most recent encounter coming in the 2015 Group Stage.

El Salvador is set for its 20th appearance in the Concacaf U-20 Championship after topping Group A in the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Qualifiers. Forward Gabriel Arnold will be one of the players to watch for La Selecta after starring during the qualifying campaign, while goalkeeper Peter Cornejo recorded three clean sheets in five appearances to help El Salvador finish first in its group on goal difference.

Cuba returns for its 16th Concacaf U-20 Championship appearance after qualifying directly as one of the highest-ranked nations in the Concacaf Men's U-20 Ranking. One player to watch for Cuba is Yankarlos Iglesias, who scored a brace against La Selecta in the Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers earlier this year.
