Concacaf Hosts 2026 Anti-Doping Workshop in Miami
Representatives from 30 Member Associations participated in the 2026 Anti-Doping Workshop.
MIAMI – Concacaf continued its commitment to promoting clean sport and strengthening anti-doping education across the region with the 2026 Concacaf Anti-Doping Workshop, held October 28-29 at Concacaf Headquarters in Miami, Florida.
The two-day workshop brought together anti-doping educators from 30 Concacaf Member Associations to prepare for the implementation of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code and strengthen anti-doping education initiatives throughout the Confederation.
The workshop provided participants with technical education, practical resources, and opportunities to exchange best practices, focusing on enhancing compliance, developing national anti-doping programs, and equipping Member Associations with the tools necessary to educate athletes, coaches, and athlete support personnel.
The initiative reflects the Confederation's continued commitment to protecting the integrity of football and promoting a culture of clean sport across the region.
Technical Program
The workshop opened with remarks from Philippe Moggio, Concacaf General Secretary, and Dr. Gerinaldo Martinez, Chairman of the Concacaf Medical Committee.
Led by representatives from FIFA, the Caribbean Regional Anti-Doping Organization (RADO), and the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), participants took part in a comprehensive program covering the evolution of anti-doping in sport, the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code, compliance requirements, FIFA's Anti-Doping Program, and strategies for developing national education initiatives.
The sessions combined technical presentations with practical discussions, providing participants with a deeper understanding of the global anti-doping framework, stakeholder responsibilities, and the resources available to support clean sport education within their respective Member Associations.
The second day focused on education objectives and the development of national anti-doping programs, followed by a roundtable discussion where participants exchanged experiences, addressed common challenges, and explored opportunities for regional collaboration.
Strengthening Clean Sport Education
Upon completion of the workshop, participants received a Concacaf Anti-Doping Workshop Certificate of Completion and committed to delivering at least one anti-doping education session within their respective Member Associations, sharing educational resources with athletes and athlete support personnel, and supporting the implementation of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code.
Through initiatives such as the Anti-Doping Workshop, Concacaf continues to invest in education, collaboration, and the development of anti-doping programs to promote clean sport and uphold the integrity of football throughout the Confederation.
