Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago win big to start CU20W

SAN CRISTOBAL, Dominican Republic Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago won big to kick off Group F of the 2020 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship, with Haiti downing Cayman Islands 8-0 and Trinidad and Tobago rolling past Saint Kitts and Nevis 6-0.

The day started with Trinidad and Tobago’s impressive display in which the Soca Warriors got a four-goal performance from Afyiah Cornwall (3’, 24’, 45+3’, 90+3’).

Also etching their names on the scoresheet for Trinidad and Tobago was Aaliyah Prince (46’) and Maria Frances-Serrant (58’).

The second game of the day in the group saw three players bag braces for Haiti, including 16-year-old MF Melchie Dumornay (4’, 86’).

Valentina Ornis (24’, 30’) and Florsie Joseph (70’, 75’) also scored two goals on the day, while Dayana Pierre Louis (8’) and Flero Dina Supris (89’) rounded out the scoring.

Next up for Trinidad and Tobago will be a clash on Tuesday with the Cayman Islands, while Haiti will meet Saint Kitts and Nevis.
