Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, qualify for Women’s U-20 Championship
MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Qualifiers defined three group winners on Monday, as Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica have claimed their place in the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship. The penultimate matchday of the qualifiers determined three spots in the Final Round. Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica maintained their leads atop their respective groups, earning qualification to the Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship and continuing their qualification hopes for the FIFA Women's U-20 World Cup. ## Group B Honduras 7, U.S. Virgin Islands 0 Honduras won 7-nil against the U.S. Virgin Islands in Group B at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Allanys Santos scored the first goal for Las Catrachas in the 16’ from a right-footed banger outside the box. Santos continued her momentum through the halftime whistle, replicating her first goal to get a brace in the 40’, extending Honduras’ lead by two goals. The Central Americans started the second half on a strong note with their third goal coming from a header by Yensi Ferrera in the 48’. A right-footed volley from outside the area by Anyeli Rodriguez in the 57’ gave Honduras its fourth of the day. Rodriguez collected her brace three minutes later, in the 60’. Santos completed her hat-trick in the 83’. Honduras' seventh and final goal came in the 86’ from a left-footed strike in the box by Karla Gomez , closing its participation with a win. Puerto Rico 2, El Salvador 2 Puerto Rico and El Salvador played to a thrilling 2-2 draw in Group B at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Ashley McMahon got the match's first goal in the 28’ from the right side of the box. Analisse Cheema doubled the Boricuas lead in the 36’, ready at the edge of the area to send a loose ball to the back of the net. El Salvador was resilient and pulled one goal back from a set piece, Angie Alvarenga sending a header to the back of the net in the 73’. El Salvador stunned Puerto Rico again, with Sarina Villa getting their second goal in the 80’ through another set piece. Even though both finished the CWU20Q with seven points, Puerto Rico finished at the top of Group B table due to goal difference. As a result, Las Leonas del Caribe clinched their spot at the Women’s U-20 Championship.
