Concacaf nations learn opponents in U-20 Women's World Cup draw
Mexico, Canada, the United States, and Costa Rica earned the right to represent the region.
MIAMI – The four Concacaf representatives set to compete at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026 have learned their group-stage opponents following Friday’s official draw in Lodz.
A total of 24 teams were sorted into six groups, setting the stage for the 12th edition of the tournament and outlining the path to the knockout rounds.
Mexico, Canada, the United States, and Costa Rica earned the right to represent the region as the semifinalists of the 2025 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship.
Here are the complete pairings for the group stage:
Group A
- Poland, Mexico, Argentina, Benin
Group B
- Brazil, England, Canada, Tanzania
Group C
- France, Korea Republic, Ghana, Ecuador
Group D
- Japan, USA, New Zealand, Italy
Group E
- Korea DPR, Colombia, Costa Rica, Portugal
Group F
- Spain, Nigeria, China PR, New Caledonia
The 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be Poland's first-ever major global women's tournament. It will be contested across four host cities: Bielsko-Biała, Katowice, Lodz, and Sosnowiec.
The top two teams in each group qualify for the Round of 16, along with the four best third-placed teams. There will then be quarter-finals, semi-finals, a match for third place, and the final.
The United States previously won the tournament in 2002, 2008, and 2012, and will be seeking a record fourth title. Canada, Costa Rica, and Mexico will be looking to win the tournament for the first time.
