MIAMI, Florida – Forster Ajago bagged a brace and Jacob Shaffelburg had a goal and two assists to help lift Nashville SC to a 4-0 victory over Moca FC of the Dominican Republic in the second leg of their 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Round One series on Wednesday night at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee.

The result gave Nashville SC a commanding 7-0 win on aggregate in the series to earn a spot in the Round of 16 against fellow Major League Soccer (MLS) side Inter Miami.

Nashville started strong and were a whisker away from the first goal in the 9’ as a Jacob Shaffelburg cross from the left wing reached the surging Forster Ajago, who thumped a header off the crossbar.

Nashville did not have to wait long for that first goal, though, and McKinzie Gaines was the one to supply it in the 13’ by receiving a long cross from Shaffelburg and driving a shot past Moca GK Pascual Ramirez for a 1-0 lead.

Shaffelburg continued to wreak havoc down the left flank and he once again delivered an inch-perfect cross, allowing Ajago to finish into net to make it 2-0 to Nashville SC in the 38’.

Shaffelburg then got to score a goal of his own, finding the back of the net in the 45’ when his effort from outside the area deflected off the leg of a Moca defender and rolled into net for a 3-0 halftime lead.

Ajago’s big night continued into the second half, as he was first to pounce on a rebound and slot home a shot for a 4-0 Nashville advantage in the 53’.

Moca would have a bright spot in the 82’ when Ramirez did very well to get low and save a penalty struck by Ajago, denying him the hat trick to make for a 4-0 final scoreline.
