Canada exists the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Quarterfinals
The North Americans saw defeat against defending Champions.
LODZ, Poland – The 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup continued with Quarterfinals action on Sunday, Canada seeing defeat against defending champions DPR Korea with a 2-nil score at Stadion Miejski LKS Lodz in Lodz, Poland.
After a goalless first half, DPR Korea scored in the 74’ from a free kick after Jon Il Chong sent a header past the Canadian defense, however, after a VAR revision, the goal was called offside.
The defending Champions took the lead in the last minutes of the match, in the 90+2’, when Choe Rim Jong sent a left foot shot from outside the box to the back of the net.
DPR Korea doubled their lead and sealed the win in the 90+6’ after a right foot shot by Ho Kyong in the area.
Canada finished their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup participation with an overall record of 2W-1D-2L.
