Three MLS sides earn victories on Leagues Cup Matchday 5
FC Dallas, Los Angeles FC, Real Salt Lake, Club León, and CF Monterrey earn three points.
MIAMI - Leagues Cup 2026 continued Saturday with five matches as part of Phase One. The Concacaf-sanctioned competition pits MLS and Liga MX clubs, as they battle for the regional crown and three spots in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.
Three MLS clubs and two Liga MX sides secured three points outright on Matchday 4, with one match going into a penalty shootout.
Orlando City SC 1-2 Club León
Matchday 5 opened with Club León defeating Orlando City SC 2-1 at Inter.co Stadium in Orlando, Florida, USA.
The home side opened the scoring in the 38’ with a grounded shot from outside the box by Marco Pašalić
León secured the comeback in the second half with goals from Juan José Guevara in the 54’ and Daniel Arcila in the 72’.
Inter Miami CF 1-2 CF Monterrey
CF Monterrey secured a 2-1 comeback victory over Inter Miami CF at Nu Stadium in Miami, Florida, USA.
Rodrigo De Paul opened the scoring to give Miami the lead in the 32’ with a long-range effort.
Monterrey completed the comeback in the second half. Goals from Hugo Cuypers in the 47’ and Diego Rossi in the 90’ sealed the win for Rayados.
CD Guadalajara 0-1 FC Dallas
FC Dallas secured three points with a win over CD Guadalajara at PayPal Park in San Jose, California, USA.
Logan Farrington scored the winner for the MLS side in the 73’ with a finish to the far post from the right side of the box.
Real Salt Lake 4-0 Atlante FC
Real Salt Lake earned a 4-0 shutout victory against Atlante FC at America First Field in Sandy, Utah, USA.
Sergi Solans capitalized on an assist from Diego Luna in the 17’ with a finish from inside the box to give Real Salt Lake the lead.
Zach Booth doubled the lead for the hosts in 50’ with a left-footed effort from just outside the box.
Real Salt Lake rounded out the win with goals from Lukas Engel in the 54’ and Pablo Ruiz in the 90’.
Deportivo Toluca FC 0-1 Los Angeles FC
Matchday 5 action closed with a 1-0 victory for Los Angeles FC against Deportivo Toluca FC at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Eddie Segura scored the winner for LAFC in stoppage time in the 90+2’ with an impressive strike from outside the box.
