Jamaica, Haiti, Curacao improve in Rankings after 2026/2027 CNL.

MIAMI – Mexico maintains the lead in the latest Concacaf Men’s National Team Rankings update following the 2026/2027 Concacaf Nations League and international friendlies during the September/October window.

The Concacaf Ranking Index grades all national teams across the confederation. Nations gain points from results in the Nations League, Gold Cup, World Cup Qualifiers, and other international matches.

Here is an update on the latest movements in the rankings:

Mexico remains first, USA closes gap

After a series of friendlies for both sides this September/October window, Mexico (2,097) remains in first in the overall rankings, followed closely by the United States (1,877) in second place.

Canada (1,821), Panama (1,655), and Costa Rica (1,534) retained their spots at third, fourth, and fifth respectively to close out an unchanged top five.

Panama continues to lead Central American nations

Panama continues as the highest-ranked Central American nation and third overall in the rankings after its friendlies in preparation for the Nations League Quarterfinals.

Costa Rica and Honduras (1,464) remain second and third amongst Central American nations after securing places in the upcoming 2027 Gold Cup Prelims through their performances in Nations League A.

Guatemala (1,446) follows in fourth place after an impressive display in Group A to advance to League A Quarterfinals, while El Salvador (1,145) closes out the top five after earning a spot in the League A+C Play-Ins.

Jamaica in command in of the Caribbean

Jamaica (1,530) remains in command amongst Caribbean national teams after booking a spot in the upcoming League A Quarterfinals. Haiti (1,516) and Curaçao (1,398), who also advanced to the Nations League Quarterfinals in League A, come next in second and third place.

Suriname (1,328), who will compete in the Gold Cup Prelims, and Trinidad and Tobago (1,200), which will feature in the League A and League C Play-Ins, round out the Caribbean’s top five.

Barbados surges up the rankings

Barbados was the biggest mover this past window, climbing up seven positions in the overall rankings to 28th after an impressive undefeated 3W-1D-0L record to win Group B and qualify for the Nations League B Championship.

Curaçao provides biggest upset with thrilling comeback victory

Curacao delivered the biggest upset this past window in its visit to Costa Rica for Nations League A action. The Caribbean nation was down 3-nil at half time, before putting together a thrilling comeback to claim the three points with a 4-3 victory.
