Miami, FL — The Concacaf Disciplinary Committee has imposed sanctions on Tigres UANL (Mexico) and Deportivo Toluca FC (Mexico) as a result of incidents related to the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup Final.
Following a thorough review of the official match reports and all available evidence, the Committee has suspended Tigres UANL goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán for seven matches for using abusive language toward the match officials and for his participation in the post-match mass confrontation prior to the start of the award ceremony.
Tigres UANL forward André-Pierre Gignac and Deportivo Toluca FC defender Antonio Briseño have also been suspended three matches each for their participation in the post-match confrontation.
The suspended players must serve their sanctions in the next Concacaf Champions Cup matches in which they are eligible to participate.
The Committee also fined both clubs an undisclosed amount for multiple breaches of the tournament’s competition and media regulations, as well as spectator misconduct.
