The 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup will feature 27 of the region’s top clubs.

MIAMI – The 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup will feature 27 of the region’s top clubs, with teams from across North America, Central America, and the Caribbean earning their place as the region’s premier men’s club competition celebrates its 65th anniversary. The tournament will crown the Confederation’s club champion and determine the third of four regional representatives that will qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup 2029.

Qualified Clubs

The first six clubs to secure their places in the 2027 Champions Cup qualified through Liga MX in Mexico: 2025 Apertura champion Deportivo Toluca FC and runner-up Tigres UANL, 2026 Clausura champion Cruz Azul and runner-up Pumas UNAM, and the two next best clubs based on the aggregate regular season standings, Club América and CD Guadalajara.

Following the conclusion of the 2026 Leagues Cup Quarterfinals, CF Pachuca and CF Monterrey have also secured qualification for the 2027 Champions Cup. With previously qualified Deportivo Toluca FC and Club América advancing to the Leagues Cup Semifinals, Pachuca secured an additional Liga MX berth as the next best non-qualified club in the aggregate standings. Monterrey has also secured its place and will qualify either as a top-three finisher in Leagues Cup or through an additional Liga MX berth based on the aggregate standings.

History

The Concacaf Champions Cup has crowned the region’s premier men’s club champion since its inaugural edition in 1962. Throughout its history, 30 different clubs from across the Confederation have won the title.

Deportivo Toluca FC of Mexico claimed the title in the 2026 edition of the tournament, defeating fellow Liga MX side Tigres UANL in a dramatic penalty shootout. The title marked the club’s third triumph in the competition, tied for the fifth-most among all clubs in the region.

Qualification Pathway

Clubs qualify for the Concacaf Champions Cup via three regional cups in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, as well as domestic leagues and cups in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

**Should a Leagues Cup qualifying club have already qualified for the Champions Cup via Liga MX or MLS, the respective league will be awarded an additional slot for the next best non-qualified club based on the applicable regular season standings.
