2026 Concacaf Central American Cup Quarterfinals Kick Off Wednesday
The first-leg matches will be played between September 9–10.

Miami, FL – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup Quarterfinals kick off today, Wednesday, September 9, with eight clubs competing across four home-and-away series.
The first-leg matches will be played between September 9–10, followed by the second legs between September 16–17. The four series winners will advance to the Semifinals and qualify for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.
Road to the Quarterfinals
The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup Group Stage featured four groups of five clubs each playing every other team in their group once for a total of four matches per club (two at home and two away) across five scheduled weeks. Following the conclusion of the round, which ran from July 28 to August 27, the top two teams from each group secured qualification to the Knockout Stage.
Group A
Three-time defending champion LD Alajuelense finished first in the group with nine points after tallying three wins and one loss. L.A. Firpo secured second place, earning its first Central American Cup Quarterfinals berth, with seven points following two wins, one draw, and one loss.
Group B
Alianza FC finished first with nine points from a record of three wins and one loss in Group Stage play. CD Marathón advanced in second place with seven points following two wins, one loss, and one draw**.**
Group C
Club Olimpia Deportivo completed a perfect Group Stage, winning all four of its matches to finish first in Group C and amass the most points of any team in the round. Deportivo Saprissa secured its place in the Quarterfinals by finishing second in the group with nine points from three wins and one loss.
Group D
CS Cartaginés finished first in its group with eight points from two wins and two draws, while FC Motagua also finished with eight points and a matching record to finish in second.
Pathway to the Concacaf Champions Cup
The four Quarterfinal winners will advance to the Semifinals and qualify for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.
The four losing Quarterfinalists will compete in the Play-In, with the two series winners also qualifying for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup. In total, six clubs will qualify through the Central American Cup, with the tournament champion earning a bye to the Round of 16.
Concacaf Club Rankings Update
In the latest Concacaf Club Ranking (CCR) update, following the conclusion of the Central American Cup Group Stage, CD Olimpia moved into the top spot among Central American clubs after a perfect Group Stage campaign. Deportivo Saprissa and three-time defending Central American Cup champion LD Alajuelense rank second and third, respectively.
