Defence Force FC, SV Broki seek first wins in Group A
Defence Force looks to build on its strong Caribbean Cup home record as SV Broki visits in a rare meeting between Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname opposition.
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago – The 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continues on Thursday with Defence Force FC hosting SV Broki in Group A at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
The match will mark only the second time in Caribbean Cup history that a Trinidadian team faces Surinamese opposition. The prior encounter came in 2025 when Central FC and SV Robinhood drew 2-2 in the Group Stage.
After finishing in third place of last year’s edition of the tournament, Defence Force is looking for its first win of the 2026 Caribbean Cup. The Trinidadian club was shut out in its opener 3-0 by Violette AC.
Defence Force has enjoyed success as hosts, losing just two of its six home matches in tournament history. The side won its most recent home game in the competition and will be looking to secure consecutive home wins in this tournament for the first time.
SV Broki is aiming for the club’s first Caribbean Cup win after falling to Club Sando FC 2-1 in its debut game.
