North Leeward Predators FC, Helenites SC, and Elite Sports Club advance in CFU Club Shield
MIAMI – The 2026 CFU Club Shield continued on Friday at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago.
The tournament serves as the qualifying path for the teams to the 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup. The two finalists will qualify, with the runners-up pre-seeded in Group A and the champions in Group B.
Friday’s matches concluded the First Round. North Leeward Predators FC, Helenites SC and Elite Sports Club advanced to the Round of 16 with their respective victories.
St. Paul's United Strikers 0-3 Helenites SC
Helenites SC overcame St. Paul’s United Strikers with a convincing 3-nil scoreline in the second match of the day.
Pierre Ander-Evenson got things started in the 45’+1’ for the club from the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Jaden Mckree doubled the lead for Helenites SC in the 53’, with a first time left-footed finish to the bottom-right corner.
Alejandro Harper added a third for Helenites SC through a free kick goal in the 57’.
North Leeward Predators FC 3-1 SCSA Eagles
The first game of the day saw North Leeward Predators FC claim a 3-1 win over SCSA Eagles.
Predators FC pulled ahead in the 22’, with Koby Mingot placing the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines side in the lead.
Khalid Tavernier equalized for Eagles from the penalty spot in the 51’.
Kirtney Franklin restored the lead for Predators FC in the 56’ with a great individual effort and finish from inside the box.
Diel Spring rounded out the result with a strike in the 58’.
Elite Sports Club 2-0 Virgin Gorda United Club
The last match in the second day of the tournament presented a 2-nil victory for Elite Sports Club against Virgin Gorda United Club.
An own goal from T’Khoy Morton opened the scoring in the 16’ for Elite Sports Club to take the lead.
Barry-Dre Tibbetts added a second in the 57’ for the side from the Cayman Islands to seal the win.
